How to get ahead in Security? Zitko discusses IFSEC 2017 and additional training in the security sector.

With IFSEC 2017 on the horizon, the team and I here at Zitko are busy continuing to support and place as many candidates as possible in the security sector. PSI Magazine’s latest newsletter discusses the training that will be available to those in attendance at IFSEC 2017, a fantastic opportunity that I wanted to highlight.

Training is particularly crucial for those looking for work in the security sector. With new trends, developments and updates frequently happening in security, ideal candidates should be on top on of the latest news and training they may need to undertake. To stand out as a candidate looking for employment, it is essential businesses can see you are eager to learn and that you are following developments in the sector. The clients we work with at Zitko are always looking for candidates that don’t just have the skills they want, but a bit extra too. So it’s no surprise I’d absolutely encourage candidates to undertake additional training and developments whenever they can.

Not sure where to start? Security events such as IFSEC consistently provide training year on year, making the event extremely beneficial for continued professional development. With a variety of training seminars and workshops offered, IFSEC is a great opportunity for anyone in security wanting to enhance their CV and learn more about what industry employers want.

Staying up to date with the latest industry news, following key security publications, companies and influencers and attending additional training courses all provide you as a candidate with an edge over others in the security sector. The team and I at Zitko would always advise candidates to make the most of any available training that they come across or find whilst proactively searching. You’re never too old to learn, and critically more than most sectors, the security industry is one where you’re only going to benefit yourself from additional learning and training.

IFSEC 2017 is taking place from June 20th-22nd at ExCeL London. Registration is free for visitors and training sessions are taking place over both days within the Tavcom Training Theatre sponsored by TDSi.
